ROLE meeting in Lausanne
Last week I spend 2 days at the EPFL in Lausanne for the ROLE project. It’s really fun when you can talk to people that share the same interest about education and learning. I know that’s the academic world but never the less they are, or could be, the R&D for the business world.
The formal part:
- the ROLE communication channels
- listening to Fridolin explaining iCamp
- Carsten and Kristin explained a bit about how Chinese people are learning English and vice versa. They use tools like VoiceThread
- the final project launch inc. champagne
- overview of the different work packages
The informal part:
- Flashmeeting a tool of the Open University explained in detail by Peter Scott
- I explained IMAP for writing papers (for different reasons not everybody was enthusiastic)
- Some people thought I could speak German but it was actually Dutch, they overheard a phone conversation
